The Instagram Insights API has important restrictions when it comes to Stories data. Here’s what you need to know:
Stories are only accessible for 24 hours via the API, even if they are archived or featured on your profile. After this period, the data becomes unavailable.
If a Story has fewer than 5 views, the API will not return any data, stating that there aren’t enough views to display metrics
These limitations mean that if your Stories are archived by Instagram or have very low views, their data can disappear before it can be retrieved. Catchr cannot report data that has already expired or been removed from the API.
Connect your Instagram account to Catchr as soon as possible to maximize your chances of capturing the data.
Run your reports or exports within 24 hours of publishing the Story.
Set up an automatic export of Story data to Google Sheets or a database to keep a historical record.
