The Amazon Ads connector in Catchr works differently from other platforms. It requires synchronization on our side before data can be accessed.
When you first create a Catchr source for Amazon Ads, data is not immediately available.
Synchronization may take a few hours to 24 hours.
This step is necessary because:
The Amazon Ads API is very slow to respond.
Google scripts (used for Looker Studio, Sheets, etc.) are limited to 5 minutes of runtime.
A live connector (direct API calls) would constantly fail on these tools.
By syncing data first, Catchr ensures queries work reliably in Google Sheets, Looker Studio, and other BI tools.
Amazon Ads API only provides recent data by default:
Sponsored Products → last 95 days
Sponsored Brands & Display → last 60 days
Because we store the data after synchronization:
You can query past data beyond API limits.
Example: a client who has been with Catchr for 1 year can access their full year (+60 / 95 days) of Amazon Ads data, even though the API itself only goes back 60–95 days.
This synchronization step is what allows Catchr to both overcome API timeouts and preserve historical data for long-term analysis.
