When using the Apple App Store integration in Catchr, you may see differences in the global rating compared to what is displayed in the App Store.
The Apple App Store API only returns reviews with comments.
Reviews that have only a rating (no text) are not included.
Because of this, you cannot compute the correct average rating through the Apple App Store integration.
To get the real average rating, you need to switch to the Apple App Reviews integration:
It provides the metric Average Rating, which always returns the official average rating of the app.
However, Apple only exposes ratings per country.
To calculate a true global rating, you must:
Run one query per country.
Combine the results manually to compute the overall average.
Apple App Store integration = All reviews with text (all countries) but no average rating.
Apple App Reviews integration = Reliable average rating, but only per country (requires aggregation for global view).
