Performance Max (PMax) campaigns in Google Ads are only available at the campaign level through the Google Ads API.
If you request data using Ad Group or Ad level dimensions, Performance Max campaigns will not be returned in the results.
This behavior is inherent to the Google Ads API and is not specific to Catchr.
Performance Max campaigns do not expose traditional Ad Groups or Ads in the same way as Search or Display campaigns.
When you:
Add Ad Group dimensions
Add Ad dimensions
The API automatically excludes Performance Max campaigns because they do not support those levels in standard reporting.
As a result:
Your dataset may look incomplete
PMax campaigns will be missing from your report
To ensure Performance Max campaigns are included in your report:
Use only:
Campaign-level dimensions (e.g., Campaign name, Campaign ID)
Account-level dimensions
Do not use:
Ad Group dimensions
Ad dimensions
If you want to analyze Performance Max results, build your query with:
Date
Account
Campaign
Metrics (Clicks, Impressions, Conversions, Cost, etc.)
Avoid adding:
Ad Group name
Ad ID
Ad type
Performance Max campaigns in Google Ads:
Are available only at Campaign level
Are excluded automatically when using Ad Group or Ad level dimensions
Must be queried using Campaign or Account level dimensions only
If PMax campaigns are missing from your report, check your selected dimensions first.
