Microsoft Ads to Looker Studio
Step 1: Create a Microsoft Ads Source on Catchr
First, create a Microsoft Ads source on Catchr. Follow this tutorial to add your new source: Create a source on Catchr.
Step 2: Install the Connector
Open Looker Studio and log in with your Google account.
On the Home page, click the Create button in the top-left corner.
Select Data Source.
In the search bar, type "Catchr".
Click on the Microsoft Ads connector and press Authorize.
Step 3: Authenticate Your Microsoft Ads Account
If you did not add a source on Catchr in Step 1, you will be prompted to do it here:
Grant the connector permission to access your advertising data.
This will link your Microsoft Ads account to Looker Studio via the Catchr connector.
Step 4: Configure Your Data Source
After authentication, select the Microsoft Ads account you want to pull data from (if you manage multiple accounts).
As with Google Ads, there aren’t any complex attribution or action time configurations to set here.
The configuration panel will give you a standard view based on your selected Microsoft Ads account.
If you want to use the default template, leave the checkbox "Use default template" checked.
Click Connect to create your data source.
Step 5: Review Data Source Fields
You'll now see the list of available fields for Microsoft Ads. Here, you can:
Modify field types (e.g., set a field as currency, percentage, etc.).
You can return to this section later to make further modifications if needed.
Step 6: Create Your Report
Once connected, click Create Report in Looker Studio.
If you didn’t use the template, you’ll see a blank report page. If you used the template, you can add a new page by clicking the page number in the top menu, then selecting Add a page at the bottom right.
Start by clicking Add a Chart and selecting your preferred chart type (e.g., time series, bar chart).
Choose the metrics and dimensions you wish to display in each chart. You can further customize filters, date ranges, and styles.
Continue adding multiple charts to visualize various aspects of your Microsoft Ads performance.
Step 7: Customize Your Report
Date Range Filters: Add a date range filter to allow users to select specific time periods.
Custom Calculations: You can create custom metrics like CTR (Click-Through Rate) or CPA (Cost Per Acquisition) directly in Looker Studio.
Blending Data: If you want to compare Microsoft Ads data with other platforms like Google Ads, use the data blending feature.
Step 8: Share or Schedule Reports
To share the report, click the Share button in the top right corner and enter the email addresses of recipients.
You can also schedule the report to be sent periodically (e.g., weekly or monthly) by setting up email delivery under File > Schedule email delivery.
